Target Shootin'

Jason and Justin Zufelt put together a little target shooting trip for our families. It was so nice; we hung out in the nice weather and the guys taught the kids about respecting and being safe around guns. We had a blast and stayed a LOT longer than we thought we would because it was so nice out!

Yes, I have noted the LACK of hearing protection....

Kinsey and Kyle went for a little ride on the 4 wheeler. She was nervous, I could tell, but I think the only reason she went is because she trusts Kyle. I doubt she would have gone with any other little kids her age!

STITCHES!

Believe it or not, with THREE kids, I'd never had to take any of my kids for stitches...until early August 2011. LOGAN decided he needed to climb on top of everything...and he'd drag around that stool and get into all sorts of mischief! NOTICE the block of knives just out of his reach in the first picture? EXACTLY. Needless to say we relocated said block of knives. Well, I decided to teach him how to get DOWN from the table one day, because I'd always find him dancing on top of the table two seconds after I'd last checked on him. He'd gotten pretty good at it and then one day, I heard the fall. He fell off while trying to get down and bit through his lip. It was worse on the inside than on the outside. We called the doctor and she told us to go in to the ER...of COURSE it happened on a weekend. They said the outside didn't need help staying closed but the inside would....brace yourselves...flap open when he'd stick his hand in his mouth. So, he got THREE stitches in there. Other than Kinsey's hip surgeries where she had non-trauma stitches, I've never taken kids for stitches before then or since...so far! I probably just jinxed it.

They call this set-up the "Papoose Board". FUN, huh? He just kept looking at me like I was the most terrible mom that had ever lived!

Good as new...almost! Boy, was he one sweaty, sniffly kid after that! Poor kid was traumatized!

AND, this was him the next day, escaping the house and climbing into the car,
making more mischief!

Pre-Halloween fun!

Kingston's Birthday is in October, and Mel asked me to do some facepainting at the party!

These kids LOVE the toy teeth....they gross me out with all the slobber that comes out with them! YUCK! They did look cute though!

Grandma Judy is always doing fun things for us and this time she bought a gingerbread Haunted Mansion for us to put together! She and Rich came over one night and had FHE with us and we all had so much fun! They are just so great to us!

Logan EYEBALLING the goods! About 10 minutes after this he'd swiped his first candy off of it. I was just happy it lasted 10 minutes untouched with him hanging around!

Camping Trip!!

It had been a busy summer with me working and Jason home with kids! We decided we needed a weekend away, so we thought about what we could do on a budget. We needed a bigger tent, so for $100 we could buy a tent and pay to camp somewhere that would be easy with kids, or we could drive somewhere and get a hotel room, which would cost a lot more. So, we headed up good ole Cedar Mountain and camped by Navajo Lake, which is probably our favorite lake up there anyway.
Um...yeah...I went for the BIG tent and WOW...it was a little bit rediculous! Oh well, we finally fit in a tent we owned, it was worth it! Don't miss little Logan in the window!

Oh my goodness, he was so cute and squishy! Why do boys always go for sticks and rocks?! He was a little bit wobbly on the uneven ground so, notice the third eye he's sportin'? Five SECONDS after the tent was up he tripped and landed on a tent spike. That could have been really bad....

Just thought that was pretty of Kinsey...

Eating our dutch oven hash!

This is the handful of flowers that Jonas brought me! Shortly thereafter I taught him about NOT picking wildflowers, but HOW SWEET WAS THAT?!! He's such a little gentelman!

Kinsey building things. She's always making things wherever she goes...and wanting to take them home and stash them with the rest of her hoard! She's so creative!! I think we left this one there though...you know, insect habitat preservation and all.

I'm not kidding...we had been there maybe an hour and THIS is how filthy he got! HAHA.

Camping has always been one of our favorite things to do together! Hopefully we'll keep the kids liking it in the years to come!

Family Pictures 2011!

Every Fall, for the last four or five years, we drag someone with camera "skillz" out and make them take family pictures for us! You know, I don't know why I ever paid people to take them, these DIY pics turn out so great! They only hang on my wall until we get them taken the NEXT fall, and it just feels like a waste if I pay a lot of money for them! Brenna has a friend whose family has these cool old trucks on their homestead. They let us go up for the evening so Brenna could take our pictures and I LOVED how they turned out! Its so nice having a Photographer in the family!

I just love these people!

Little Boys...

I just love my little boys....they're crazy, unpredictable, SO messy, super snuggly, and SO much fun!

Logan found this dress up hat and would not put it away! He loved it!

Hosing the little mohawked mess-makers off!

COOKIE BREAK!

COOKIE BREAK!
(Notice the upturned stool and toy hammer in his hand...up to mischief if you ask me!)

Blanket forts are the BEST!

Logan was falling asleep eating lunch one day...it was so sweet and I felt terrible for taking pictures of it, but he NEVER falls asleep like this!
