Okay, so I'm actually a little grateful for the OCD in the sewing department....let me explain. Its keeping my mind occupied so the time can fly until I pop this new baby out! I'm also feeling very creative and pleased that I'm sewing enough that I am actually getting a lot better at it and more intuitive. I'm getting a ton of projects done that have been stacking up, although, I still do have a few major projects that need to get finished already! Anyway, this first couple pics are of the diapers/wipes cases I've been making for a while. The front and back pockets have elastic and expand a little. Those hold the wipes and diapers. In between the two front pockets is a pocket with velcro to hold the extra bink, bum cream, whatever. I just always hate it when you drop the bink in Walmart and don't have a spare, or you just plain lose it in that dumb store! Most poeple just take their diaper bags with them everywhere, but I've gotten lazy...its just easier to make sure this clutch is stocked and grab it and go...shove it in the church bag, snuggle it in with the baby, whatever...its just easier. I keep a set of clean clothes and burp rags, etc in the car so I don't have to drag a suitcase with me everywhere!

Next is a table runner, (that could fit a 15 seater table...didn't measure it so well!), that I've wanted to finish. It was my first attempt at applique quilting and it wasn't so bad! I got the book/pattern in Seattle last February and it was just about time I got it done! I wanted it to feel real spring/Valentine's day-ish so I can have it on my table for a while before decorating for the next holiday.
I had this boppy pillow, (breastfeeding pillow, for anyone who has no idea what I'm talking about), and it didn't have a cover and its ugly. Well, now it does have a cover! I bought a $4 towel from the store, brought it home, and 20 minutes later, BAM...pillow covered! Its so snuggly!

This is the monster stack of blankies I have accumulated over the past couple months (some have been given away due to the baby boom we are having, too!). There are a couple strip rag quilts, a few flannel on fleece, and a few recieving blankies that have places that the straps come through so you can still swaddle the baby while in the carrier. My kids want to be swaddled 24/7 while in infant form, so I'm hoping this will help the new one not mind the carrier so much.

Baby booties....wow. That's been a work in progress. I started out with a real simple pattern...and altered it...made a few sets. Then, I had this great idea, altered the pattern again...made a few sets. Guess what? Then I had another great idea and altered the pattern again...you get the idea. I love this set, the brown shoes with dark ribbons and dark red hearts. I also really love the boy shoes with the colored strap/button. I was kinda hoping to know which sets to focus on the most by now, but its hard to narrow it down!

I've made a bunch of dresses lately too. Most of them I've given away as baby gifts, but a few of them I just made two identicals cause I knew I'd love them too much to let them go!

I loved this brown polka dot print....it had a twin, til I gave it away!

I also loved this farm/americana print and it too had a twin...till it became a baby gift! These dresses come from a pattern that is so easy, you cut out two sets and both are done in a couple hours!
This is an Easter dress I just finished for Kinsey...not super frilly, but I got the fabric in the remnants pile for $1.75! I wanted to get it done so I'm not wanting to sew it two hours after I birth a baby! It too was a super easy pattern and I might try to do it again with satin-y fabric for a more formal look.

Anyway, I partly just wanted to document this madness that has overcome me...and the other part was that a lot of people have been asking me to show what I've been up to lately. I think most of my friends think I've fallen off the face of the earth!

I should have you teach me to sew!! I really want to try it again, I have not tried since I was 12 or 13!
Look at you go girl. And you talk about me being crafty....puhhh!! Look in the mirror.
I love to sew! Some days I don't as much and then I am like you. I will make 5 quilts in a week. I should show you these cute material flowers I make for hair clips. You don't need much material, but the scraps from your dresses. It is so cute because they match. They don't take any time at all. I think I made 100 of them last week.
I am just learning to sew! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the boy booties with the strap/button or the girl ones with the heart/star just to the right of them. Where did you get the pattern and how hard were the boy ones? I'm due in June with my first boy (and only) and would love to try those out. :)
Good Gravy, girl! Stop the maddness! Just kidding. Actually, keep it up. These are all incredible and so fun!
Wow Caitlyn Im so impressed! U can sew just about anything! I looove those baby booties and the diaper hand bag, what a great idea! Im so jealous I will I knew how to sew like that.
Liesl, yay! If my dumb scanner were working, I'd post the pattern on here...same with instructions on the diaper/wipe case. That's nice because you make a blankie and you have scraps and you can make it to match! Both of those I made up myself. The best thing about the bootie pattern is you enlarge it and it'll make whatever size you want...and these newborn pairs cost about 60 cents to make! They aren't hard, either...I cut out a bunch of sets and make them all at once. Once I get my scanner up, I'll post the pattern. Lisa, I totally want to know how to make the fabric clips!!! Send me pictures!
