August is a busy month for us. Between getting Jason and his classroom ready for school, harvesting and canning,

and getting Kinsey ready for her school...I'm usually beat. This year wasn't so bad. I dunno if we've finally gotten used to the chaos or we're getting better at keeping it at bay, but we actually had some extra time one Saturday! We decided that we'd take the kids up to the kids pond at Wood's Ranch, up Cedar Mountain. I was so excited, mainly because I got to get out of the house, but also because the kids

really haven't fished a lot. Usually they are off swimming and playing elsewhere. Within 15 minutes of us having our lines in the water, Kinsey caught a little trout! She's "helped" us reel in a few fishes in the past, but this time we made her do almost all of it! Kinsey caught her

first fish! We tried and tried for another couple hours to get Jonas a fish, but we just couldn't make it happen! It was sure pretty up there! The wildflowers were gorgeous and the fish were jumping and the bag of Doritos just made the day perfect! It was such a simple, spontaneous trip and we had a ball!
