Uh, Uh, Uh, Uh...Stayin' Alive.....

Yeah, we're stayin' alive around here. Jason is ALMOST done with the 2008-2009 school year and he's got the fever! He's keeping a countdown! haha. He's been excited about the fishing weather we've been having, so he's hoping to get out and catch some big ones soon! He's really headed up the gardening for this year and bought himself a tiller. Yeah, a splurge, but we know we'll garden until the day we die, so why not while we have the cash, eh? I'm working at Color Country Dispatch in Cedar City and I'm loving it! I love having a 15 minute commute! Wahoo! So, at the end of the day, while I'm still feeling good after a full day of work, I can hop in my car and be home fast and still have energy to get some stuff done! I feel like being at work isn't really work because I get home after only being gone 8 hours instead of 12.5! Once it gets busy I hope I still feel that way, but at least I'll get overtime for anything over 8 hours!

The chickens are doing great and are getting big! They need to have an outdoor area fixed up so hopefully that's what I'm going to do this weekend. I have one big Orpington that's got her comb and waddles...or whatever they are....turning pink. I think she rules the roost! I was kinda wound up last night, kinda overwhelmed after a long day, and I went out and opened the coop and just sat right in the dirt and watched the chickens. I can't believe how calming it was just sitting there listening to them chirp and make their little noises! This Orpington, she came right up to the door, when all the other ten chicks didn't even notice it was open, and just sat on the edge of the door watching me and wondering what was outside. She was real curious! She's got personality! Its fun to see and feel like I'm getting to know them a little better!

Kinsey's last day of preschool was yesterday. I found myself a little teary at the thought that the year went by so fast! I mean, my kids are growing up and stuff, but I've never had something like a school year to compare their changes in a year to! It really put this past year in perspective! The school did a pot luck BBQ on Wednesday night and it was super fun! We had good food, the kids got to play with all the other kids and it was just a perfect night! All the preschoolers got up and sang songs for the parents and, I kid you not, Kinsey was up there posing and dancing at all the wrong places while still doing all the right things right! It was hilarious! I really gotta get that girl into dance! They gave the kids a "diploma" and some gifts and I got a gorgeous Ranunculus as a gift for doing Policy Council. I got a picture of Kinsey with her teachers and I was glad they had had such a fun wrap-up to the school year!

Jonas is kinda moody these days, mostly because he's teething and the rest because he's addicted to being outside and sometimes we just want to, you know, cook dinner or go to the bathroom every once in a while. He's usually such a chill kid unless he's hungry or tired, but these days we've really heard a lot from him...and he's not using the "nice" voice! hahha. I also think he's at that age where he's trying to tell us things and we aren't speaking his "language" so he's very upset. I'm sure in a few months he'll be chatting away in COMPREHENDABLE sentances. Oh, and he's no longer a bink boy! We lost ALL of his binks a few weeks ago and so I got fed up and started pretending that they never existed! He didn't even seem to miss them! (Sometimes we did, like in Church or Walmart in the check out line!)

We've been busy with our yard too. We laid almost 4,000 sq ft of sod two weeks ago! Wow, what a difference some sod makes! Our yard isn't a dust bowl anymore! We are hoping to have some major BBQs soon! FINALLY! My dad made the comment that we look like an oasis out in the middle of our development! hahah. We've been getting our garden in too! We put another manifold in our sprinkler box and put our garden on the sprinkler's system and on the timer! Yay! No more wandering out to the spigot in the wee hours to turn on the garden water and tripping over weeds and stuff! We planted a cherry tree that my stepmom gave us, (I about cried when I saw it I've wanted one for so long!), and a few trees we got from the Arbor day thing here in town. My bulbs are on their way out, so I'm bummed, but there's a time and a place for everything, including bulbs, I guess.

Anyway, I'll post recent pics later, I'm just trying to get an update out! Everybody's great, though and we're sorry if we seem antisocial, we are just usually super tired by the end of the day. Oh yeah, and we got Directv last week so we've been watching a lot of "Deadliest Catch" and "John and Kate Plus 8", hahahaha.

We are having the same issues withh Sydney right now. She's now realizing she can voice her opinion in little temper tantrums that I'm afraid are only going to get worse. David was always pretty mellow so this is mostly new! That's awesome you guys got a rotatiller! We have lettuce, onions, and spinache coming in! woohoo!
