Busy Bees! Bzzzz.

We've been busy these past couple weeks! Jonas wanted me to read his favorite book, "Hairy Mclary's Caterwaul Caper" to him the other day but I was busy with something. Kinsey knows the whole book by heart so I sat them up on the couch and she read the whole book to him...or recited, actually. That reminds me, I need to get video of her reciting it...its so cute and actually pretty amazing! Jonas was about to pass out or he woulda been smiling. In fact, I think this is one of the few pictures that he isn't smiling in that I've taken in a long time!

Last Friday and Saturday, Jason took the kids to St. George overnight and they had so much fun! They pitched a tent and played until they dropped! Jason got to go to Costco and have help keeping the kids busy! I missed them like crazy, and when all was said and done, I didn't see the kids for like three and a half days straight because of bedtimes and overtime and them going out of town. I don't like them being out of town, even if I don't see them bedcause of getting home late! I couldn't sleep well, all the wierd noises were waking me up....go figure and the kids were gone....and I just was lonely! They had much more fun there than they would have had here, though.

The opening ceremonies for the Summer Games were last Thursday and we took the kids and met up with some friends to watch the fireworks that they let off from SUU. It was fun, but I have to say: CAN THEY NOT TURN OFF THE SPRINKLERS JUST ONCE IN THE 6 YEARS WE'VE GONE TO WATCH? Geeze. Right during the grand finale, too! Well, let me rephrase that statement....(because we pick different places to sit each year and we always manage to pick the place that the sprinklers eventually come on), WHY CAN'T I BE A MIND READER AND FIGURE OUT WHERE TO SIT SO WE AREN'T WALKING BACK TO THE CAR WET AT 10:30 AT NIGHT??

This is the rag quilt that I finally finished. It only took me a gajillion yards of flannel, a 5 hour trip to Jason's school to be able to lay the dang thing out, a million trips for fabric, (which is why its kinda hodge-podged), and still more time to cut and wash...which is STILL on my to-do list. Now I can officially say that we have ONE quilt that actually fits our queen sized bed and comes kinda close to the floor. Isn't that pathetic? Oh, and extra bonus....it ended up matching our collection of random pillowcases too! hahha. Anyway, this project was intended to be a present to Jason for our 6th wedding anniversary and it came pretty close to being done in time too! Too bad I irritated Jason to no extent trying to work on this thing in my limited off-time. I tend to get a little tunnel-visioned when I'm working on a project that's taking up precious closet space! We both like having a decent quilt to go atop our bed and, despite finding a few hidden pins, (Sorry honey!!! He thinks I'm out to kill him because they all HAPPENED to be on his side!), its been a welcomed addition to the home. MUUAAAHHH!

Zeke is a cute kittie! hope he hast tried to chase the chickens yet. i took spanks on our regular afternoon walk today, and there was a random rooster just hanging out at the " poo-poo park". so he had a good time trying to make a new friend - i dont think the rooster was too keen. hehehehehe
