This past Saturday, we all packed into the truck and drug the canoe up the mountain to Navajo Lake. Navajo is probably my favorite mountain lake, especially when we take the canoe! Its just so pretty and there are so many places to explore if you paddle to the other side. Its also the most clear lake I think I've ever seen! Most times we've gone, you can see at least 6-10 feet deep. I'd forgotten how relaxed I feel when we go fishing...shoot! Even

paddling around the lake not catching anything is relaxing to me! Feeling my stress release made me realize how cooped up and tense I really had become! I was hoping to catch a little brown trout, but only my dad caught a fish. We all got nibbles though! We set up an area on

the shore by some trees for shade, set up our chairs and pulled out all the snacks! Kinsey used the chairs to make a fort and they also played in the water and had fun. It was probably only 85 degrees and the breeze was so nice...it was just perfect! The kids each went out with us in the canoe and we just had a real nice time! Afterward, we drove into Duck Creek for
ice cream at the general store like we always do when we go up the mountain. You can tell my kids loved their
ice cream...so did Jason! It just

happened to be "Duck Creek Days" so the place was
CrAwLiNg with people, so we just ate our
ice cream and went back home to where it was supposed to be 97 degrees! When we got home we realized we were all
sun burnt...even Logan a little! I don't know how it happened...he was always in the shade and I never tan or sunburn on my legs anymore but my legs were fried! I figure it must have been the altitude. Poor guy, but by the next morning he was nice and tan! Anyway, I know that fishing trip was mostly

for me. Jason and the kids have been fishing a lot this summer but they always go where it would be hard to take the baby. The guys really took one for the team letting me pick the place. Smaller fish, but more shade and cooler temperatures! The last two pictures were the kids practicing! Jonas took the one of Kinsey...pretty good, huh? Kinsey took a few of Jonas, but he's hard...he doesn't like to look at the camera and doesn't hold still, but still pretty good! I love summers...!

Aawww! I love that canyon. Good times. I agree. Navajo lake is gorgeous. Don't you wanna just strip down and jump in? I always get that crazy desire everytime we went out there. The water is really cold but it's just so clean and clear looking. It just calls my name. oh! I can hear it now...
