This year, Kinsey had asked to be Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and I had a pattern that would fit her for just this final year, so I made her costume. We went to the fabric store one night on a Kinsey and Mommy date, just to pick out the sequin trim and lace for it. She was so excited. Jonas, at the dinner table for the past few months, has been growling while he eats. When you ask what he's doing he'll say "a shark". Its so cute, so I decided to make him a shark costume. I sewed him a grey hoodie out of fleece and then altered from there. It had two big eyes and a pointy nose and a fin on the back. I had wanted the whole family to do the theme thing this year. I wanted Kinsey to be Little Red Riding Hood, Jonas to be the Big Bad Wolf, Me to be the Grandma, and Jason to be the Hunter, but Kinsey would have none of that, so Jason and I just went with the theme. Three Peaks Elementary, the school Jason teaches at, always has a Halloween Carnival sometime around the big night.

This year it was on Friday night and so I got the kids all dressed up...not in the "warm version" because it was indoors...and we went! The kids have fun. They have carnival games there where you win candy for prizes. Most of the games are Kinsey's level, but Jonas still did pretty good! Its fun seeing all the other parents and some of Jason's past parents in the crowd and visiting! We usually splurge and buy pizza there for a buck and just enjoy going with the flow.

This year I took on the responsibility of the neighborhood's Trunk Or Treat on Halloween night. I had been so busy that I kind left it till the last minute, but it worked out. We didn't have as huge a turnout as last year, but it was close! There were so many people in the neighborhood that helped out! It was really fun to see how much people love this tradition! After the Trunk Or Treat wound down, Jason and I cleaned up his DJ equipment...yep, he took it and it was fun....and then we ran over to my boss's house from this summer and another co-worker's house that live close. We also went over to "our other grandma's" house. Her name is Judy and her and her husband live just at the end of our street. My kids just love her and have adopted her. This couple is so fun and happy. Anyway, even with the nasty weather the few days before, it was a gorgeous day, we had a lot of fun but not too much fun, and we got to mark off the last holiday before the

big ones hit. Do you ever feel like every holiday you mark off the calendar when you have little kids is like "the end of an era" in a way? My kids will never fit into those

cute costumes again...and that's the last Halloween I'll have only two kids...just stuff like that? Sad, but exciting at the same time.
